Well last Sunday while doing something stupid, I wind up breaking a toe on my right foot. Good thing I wear NB so that I have room to spread out. Guess that's how the week will begin. Finally get it together to go to the boat and put on the new Ghost TM prop I got for Fathers day and install the Precision grass cutter for lowrance. Get to the boat and everything is going smoothly, except there is about an 1/8 th of an inch of line and crap wrapped around the shaft. Even braid. 20 minutes later and the shaft is clean. (I could make a bunch of comments here, but this is a G rated site.

) Wife is helping me. When we complete the install and.............somethings wrong. The prop won't turn. It was working two weeks ago when I had the boat out. Disassemble everything and put it back together thinking the grass cutter might be binding on the prop. Nope not that. OK. Disassemble again and this time put on the old prop. The prop stares at me like an old DC10. Ok time for Google. Who are the authorized service centers near Tracy. Are you ready........NONE! Crap, but Gone Fishing Marine (where I bought the boat) is an authorized repair center. Call GFM and ask for Greg. Greg was the service manager who I thought was great. He could get me in usually within a week. Their response.....Greg doesn't work here anymore. Hmmm. Need to schedule an appointment. July 23.

Wait July 23 WTH. OK so set the appointment. Now You tube time. Factory reset. Yikes! OK between the 2 of us the reset is complete. Lights work, motor turns resets itself in stow, but still no turn. Remove the prop a to see if the shaft alone will turn and NOPE. OK time to call in the heavy guns. First call to my buddy Jay Liu. Probably fishing no answer VM. Next Alan Fong, and VM. Call Fishermans Warehouse (SAC) and they say bring the motor in drop it off. Right Mr. thumbs and broken toe are going to mess with with wires and unscrew.....I don't think so. Maybe if I were more mechanically inclined, but if you want something messed up......with a puzzled look on a face, I'm your guy. OK text Richard at C&C Marine and he was a big help. He told me to meter at the breaker and batteries. (after all they are 3 years old) Taking the meter with me today. Checked with Rob at the Basshole yesterday and he recommended Andy. So options are open and we'll see what happens today.
So yesterday on my way to WWN, I stop by the Basshole to pick up my new sweatshirt. Hooray! Big Thanks to Rachel.
anyway Josh and I are in line near the front. As usual there's always 1. We decided to make the long run. Spot #1 Josh is throwing a crankbait and me a chatterbait. Josh catches a 2.15, and I'm getting nothing. I switch to a "BIG BITE" swim jig with a yamamoto D shad trailer and bam a 3.15. Josh catches another 3 lber and by 5 we have 13lbs. (now you have to understand Josh is what I would call "cerebral" when it come to bass fishing. He's one of those guys that finds the weirdest baits from Japan and ties them on and catches lots of fish). Well back to fishing, we are still at spot 1 and were in a desolate no nothing bank discussing leaving when Josh hooks a 4.39. OK we're on our way. He then backs it up with another 3.15. TW 17.1 on the Bubba Scale. Woo Hoo. This should be good. One more bite and we're gonna be set. Spot #2 is starting to get active. They are pulling the legs down on the frog, but not eating it. Maybe next week. Well the one more bite does not come.
Weigh in scale lists us at 17.25. Now any other time that would be great.....but there 3 20+ lb bags, an 18 and two 17's ahead of us. We still manage to pull off 7th place. Took 15.80 to get paid. Next week gonna be tough with July 4th traffic.
