As things come to a head in Sacramento, again no budget, but even worse this year a massive deficit like none other before it, what is going to give? Inflation in energy and food sectors, hell lets be honest, accross the board, and looming tax increases from the democrats in the capitol. How are we going to get through this unscathed? Not. We are going to get it right between the eyes!
When my budget at home is tight we cut back, not so in Sacramento, the democrats refuse any further cuts, they want their cake and they want a big fat scoop of ice cream to go with it. We have so many social and entitlement programs, past bond measures to pay interest on, looming infrastructure issues, housing foreclosures to deal with, shrinking tax revenues, and that doesn't begin to deal with unemployment, healthcare, etc......
I would like one liberal to explain just how we can deal with all of this and not cut social programs.
I say cut all social programs by half, cut all housing assistance by half, cut all state employees pay by 10% (our company did it why can't the state) require all state employees to pick up 25% of the medical premiums. Force the schools to cut admistration costs (not teachers) by 30%. Put all prisoners to work in meanigful labor around the state, chain gangs were good enough in the 20's and 30's they're good enough now. Cut welfare payments by half. Close all state parks that do not generate enough revenue to pay for themselves, double tuition fees for out of state college students, cut salaries of all state executives by 20%, do away with housing compensation for all state university chancellors, proffesors and anyone else who receives them. Man this list could go on and on and on......

How else can you make up for the republicans who cheat on their taxes?Dan McKenzie wrote:hell lets be honest, accross the board, and looming tax increases from the democrats in the capitol.

Re: Budget
as a former tax guy, let's be clear - EVERYONE CHEATS! But that doesn't answer the question. How would a fiscal liberal fix the mess we're in. I am looking for the equation, but it something like 85% of each and every tax dollar collected goes towards entitlements. It's no wonder why we're in deep _ _ _ _ on this. In fact to be perfectly honest I'm not going to give a rats behind who is our next president, it won't matter either way, we are going to get a royal screwing from our state legislature, and elected officials needless to say it's going to be a long long time before we get this mess cleaned up.

that is absolute 100% hogwash. Gray Davis and Arnold, the two are indistinguishable to me; neither truly responsible for the mess, neither capable of the strong leadership needed, or the ability to deal with the situation. Gray Davis our saviour, yeah right.

HAHA!! Thanks Dan. I just had that arguement the other day. The only diference between Gray and Arnie was the vehicle tax.
Will someone please look in to all the tax free income folks make and send home to another place while using schools and hospitals for free?? Maybe if EVERYONE paid the numbers would add up better
