Buzzbaits and braid
Buzzbaits and braid
good combo???????????????
Re: Buzzbaits and braid
Yep! Use a soft rod (cranking) and wait until the bait goes under to set. Another little trick I do is, the night before you go out let your bait hang in the line and put a drop of super glue about 8"-10" up your line and let it run down to the bait. Leave it for a hour or so to dry. This will make the line stiff and cut down on it getting caught up in your blade when casting. Also works great on spooks.

Mike is on the money! A long rod with a little give in the tip is perfect. It takes a few blowups to get used to reelin' down on 'em. Keep the rod in a 10 oclock position during the retrieve. When a fish takes it, extend your arms while dropping the rod to 8 oclock, then hammer time! Good luck
If you always do what you did, you will always get what you got!

Re: GLUE
Usally just a drop or two. It will bead up and run down the line to the bait. It makes it stick out strait but to brittle. Works great when throwing in the wind, I hate it when the line wraps up in the blade. Also with the spooks, it doesnt get caught up in the hooks. I read about this a couple of years ago and been doing it ever since. Saves alot of fishing time taking out tangles.
Re: Buzzbaits and braid
I personally prefer Mono for topwater.
Mono floats and braid sinks.
Therefore, easier to work topwater using mono.
I use braid for my Frogs (Power Pro 50) as it cuts the weeds and has the strength to drag a toad plus 4 pounds of muck out of the swamp.
Just my 2 cents.

Re: GLUE
I as about to say - you've never seen the braid I throw - it don't sink at all - unless there is a toad on the other end.
