Re: Buzzbaits in the Delta...........
My favorite one is a old Talon or TOC bait that weighs in at 15/16 of an ounce with a three blade plastic prop. They don't use that mold anymore, but Persuader has some 1/2 baits that are mis marked and weigh in at a 7/8 of an ounce (or they did).
I like them real heavy to cast into the wind or just cast farther in general. With a big fish pole, awesome reel, and a heavy bait you can really cover some water. Or at the back of the boat, you can give your boater fits, with your ability to reach far off targets. If he is throwing a lighter bait, you can keep up, or surpass him.
I like white, red/black, and chart. once in awhile.
A guy can always pinch on a rubber sinker to make the bait heavier, but its not quite as slippery as a factory painted unitized buzzer.
I like the Mogambo grub for a trailer if I can get away with it. If the curly tail gives it trouble in the green stuff, I just pinch it off and leave the body of the grub on the hookshank.

Re: Buzzbaits in the Delta...........
I like the squeek of metal and rarley use the plastic blades. 1/2 oz (I wish I could find heavier) revenge w clacker or a persuader double buzzer have been my best big fish producers. Although a strike king tri-wing (metal) seems to get me more bites. I keep my colors simple, white or black. I never use a trailer hook,,, although most would dissagree I'm sure,, cause I like throw into all kinds of nasty stuff and I don't feel like I'm fishing very efficiently if I'm allways stopping to de-weed.. I always use a trailer,, 6" lizard without the head, sizmic toad, big double tail grub,, and sometimes just a plain split tail if I'm going for a smaller profile... As much as I like the persuader bait, there is a flaw in their manufacturing process which weakins the blade arm at the clasp causing them to break frequently. I've been told it has to due with over heating the wire when it's bent and that persuader is working on correcting that.... but so far I've broken a bunch of baits.. however, I keep buying more cause it gets big bites.

Gotta love the Bobby D's clackers and that Rodstrainer counter rotator in black with a lil red! Best trailer fer me, a Yamamoto 6" Kuttail in 157!

Buzz Bait? I havnt thrown one in 2 years! Ever since I found out about the wakebait! Did I say that out loud??
But if I ever throw one again, it would be a Bobby D's for sure.
