calero reservoir

Post by tracker31 »

hello,
i am looking to go to calero for the 1st time this friday and was wondering how the bite is. the last report in was from the 29th so i was wondering if the bite has changed based on the past heat waves. any help would be much appreciated. :D thanks.

I would personally just go to Anderson. It's been really consistant lately. Calero is slower for sure but the quality is better. You want lots of action, Anderson. Slower but probably better fish, Calero. Or go to Coyote where it is REALLY slow and hope for one big bite.

i have been fishing anderson about once a week with great consistency, but have not produced many big fish there. i have heard good things about the fish in calero and wanted to give it a shot. nobody should waste their time going to coyote because the bite is DEAD.

True story! Coyote is like the dead seas since last Fall. Sure some good ones are caught here and there but nothing like last year. Anderson has been on fire since early spring, as far as numbers go. Biggest I've caught there is just over 3 though. No size but fun none the less.

Calero is pretty chocked up with weed's and Moss right now but better quality but lower number's.

A limit right now would be a pretty good day at Calero. If you just want to have fun hit Oneil Forebay with Zara Spook's and Jerkbait's the Striper's are going good and will only get better the next Month or so.
