Re: castaic tags
The people up at Pyramid said they will honor the tags from Piru, when I got checked earlier in the week the lady said that some of the inspectors are failing boats that have water bottles in there boat. Yes she was referring to the Arrowhead bottle that I had in a cup holder that was still sealed....
Re: castaic tags
That's funny.
Someone needs to come up with a better solution at some point soon. Maybe a gps device like the Spot, mounted to a boat to tell where it's been? Clean and dry isn't always possible and it's not fair that you could get turned away after taking a day off to go fish when your boats just got some rain water in the bilge.

Hollywood, to be fair about those inspectors, I'm sur e they are worrying about the people out there that are going to take that bottle of water, drive to to Irvine, empty it and fill it up with Irvine water, put the cap back on and then drive back to Pyramid and pour it in.

Hahaha!!!! You must have seen their training video. Provided by Homeland Security, no doubt, and paid for with our tax dollars.mrobinett wrote:Hollywood, to be fair about those inspectors, I'm sur e they are worrying about the people out there that are going to take that bottle of water, drive to to Irvine, empty it and fill it up with Irvine water, put the cap back on and then drive back to Pyramid and pour it in.

and people thought the inspections weren't going to be that bad. Get ready people... Casitas and DVL style crap will most likely take over!

You can do this with a sealed bottle of water? Mine was sealed and the lady said even though it's brand new and still sealed and visibly sealed if I get the wrong inspector I could be failed.
Re: castaic tags
i got to say that the closed water bottle thing is pretty sad. I don't even think Casitas or DVL have that rule.Hollywood wrote:mrobinett wrote:Hollywood, to be fair about those inspectors, I'm sur e they are worrying about the people out there that are going to take that bottle of water, drive to to Irvine, empty it and fill it up with Irvine water, put the cap back on and then drive back to Pyramid and pour it in.

I went to Castaic on thursday with a wire from Piru. Sailed through with no delay. The lady just cut the wire and sent me through. Bass fishing sucked by the way.
You will need to get off the lake before closing time though (currently 4:45 pm) if you want your boat retagged. The lady told me they were going to leave at 4:30 pm.
