Cleaning the screen

Post by Grant »

I have a couple of Lowrance units and know that some products are NOT to be used to clean the screens. Which products are usable for removing fingerprints and water spots without removing the coating on the screens?

No harsh chemicals or abrasive substances. Windex to any cleaner designed for screens from an electronics stores. The more important issue here is what you use to apply the cleaner. Don't use paper towels. They are made from wood products and these will scratch. Your shirt sleeve or cotton towels you have in your boat can have grit in the fibers and scratch the screen. I only use micro fiber cloth on mine and make sure they are cleaned often and only used for my Lowrance screens.
