We are in for a great tournament and excellent weather for our February 23rd tournament. Sign up by phone; call Lakeport Bait & Tackle 707-900-5101. If you're in town stop by Clearlake Outdoors or Lakeport Bait & Tackle to sign up. We will have the registration and bar-b-que Friday 3 to 6 pm, at Clearlake Outdoors. On Saturday you can sign up at Lakeport Bait & Tackle, starting at 5:30 am. We will be at the 5th Street boat ramp inspecting boats, and will start the first flight at 7:00 am, and weigh-in will start at 3:00 pm. Weigh-in will be at our host motel, the Skylark Resort. If you need a room, contact them at 707-263-6151 and mention the code "Crappie" to receive a discount. Again, no off-limits; you can practice Friday, but all boats must be off the water by 2:00 pm. By the way, I had a guide trip today and the fishing is still excellent. The key is using your depth finder to find the schools. Good Luck to all; see you Friday.

Weather is looking great for our tournament, but on Sunday the next day, it will change with rain in the forecast for the next 12 days. Should have called this "the last chance tournament" before the storms hit. We had sunny conditions and warmer weather all week and has triggered the crappie bite. Catching over a hundred crappies a day. Guessing the winning weight will be over 24 pounds for this event. Here is a clue use your electronics and look for the schools still in deeper water and suspended in 5 to 15 feet. Swin jigs or bobber fish with 7 to 10 foot of leader. Good luck and see you on Friday at the bar-b-que. We will accept late entries Saturday morning at Lakeport Bait and Tackle starting at 5:30 am and they will have coffee and donuts for all. We are launching and boat inspection at the 5th street boat ramp. "Win, lose or draw, this will be a Blast" for information give me a Call Ed 702-497-8938
