Well, we finally have some weather and some really good news to go along with it.
As some of heard or read, the bite is finally gone to the good and to make thing even better the quality is the best we’ve seen for a number of months.

With the lake at minus .83 Rumsey and water surface temps 58-59 degrees at daylight,
The fish are finally on the chew and wolf packing on the bait. Mid-day surface temps rise to 61-62 degrees and the bite has been holding throughout the day as a result.

Mid to deep water cranks like a MegaBass Deep Six, LV 500’s, Trashfish, and yes, the A-rig, are all beginning to put a real hurt on them, especially if you can find the shad. Yes, that’s correct, I said shad. Find the fish that are on the shad balls, and you’ll certainly find the better bites.

Some have a hard time believing the “big bite” reports going around but they are indeed
legit. Outside of spring this is the time of year that a fish of a lifetime or a limit of a lifetime can easily be had. Put the shorts away, don jacket and rain suit, and get out on the lake with one of the lures mentioned. Really? Absolutely, while you may not boat 30 fish a day, a 10-15 fish day for anywhere between 24-30lbs is not out of the question.

Three key tips for success;

1) Don’t be afraid to fish shallow
2) Don’t be afraid to move around
3) Don’t run from the wind

Seriously fellas, these next couple of weeks could be absolutely “epic” as they say so
don’t miss out! We were out yesterday for a 33lb limit and an 11.5 lb. kicker.
Had we boated what we dropped? Ouch, it coulda been closer to 40 than to 30……..
