Clear Lake Water Quality Update: App. 50+ dead

From Clear Lake Water Quality

Approximately 50+ dead prickly sculpin, crappie and other fish off Lily Cove shoreline on Clear Lake (Lower arm). Fish are in the cyanobacteria bloom. Dissolved oxygen at location of fish kill is currently high enough to sustain fish life (over 6ppm). Big Valley EPA staff took water and fish samples. Appears to be Lyngbya species cyanobacteria. Dead fish have been reported to CDFW and other agencies.
