Clearlake Triton Owners Tournament Questions

Post by Jeff C. »

Hey guys,

While I've fished a few small local tournaments this is my first big two day tournament and I have some questions. First, how's the security situation at Konockti? I'm assuming I should take my gear out of the boat at night but what about my prop? Should I get a prop lock? From a security standpoint is it better to keep my boat on the trailer or put it in a boat slip?

If I do put my boat in a slip, will I have to put it back on the trailer to launch each morning of the tournament?

Can I assume there will be an electrical outlet to charge my batteries after each day? Should I bring my generator along just in case?

Thanks, Jeff C.

You should be able to leave your boat in a slip at Konocti and once you launch you will be fine for the entire weekend. Make sure you get your Quagga Inspection band before you launch your boat up there.

if you lock up your boat and dont' leave stuff out on the deck you should be fine. If you are concerned you can take the stuff in the room with you but you should be fine. There is security at the casino marine.....

Make sure you bring an extension cord with you to plug in and charge your batteries. It is better to have too much cord than not enough. Shouldn't be a problem but you might want to bring that generator as your security blanket.......

Good Luck and see you at Clear Lake!!!!

Jeff,
Konocti Vista has the nicest docks on the lake. They have electric plugs at the dock( bring a cord). They also have security watch them at night. I have never heard of anything stolen off the docks there. The parking lot is another story.I think the boats are safer in the water. I Still would lock the lockers and bring in the rods to your room,You should be able to leave your boat in the water all weekend.Stop and see us we are 1.6 miles from the Casino at

Power and that is fine at most of the docks at KVC. I'd suggest making sure you've got your fenders or bumpers on board and out when you tie up as the docks there are high from the water line. Good security, gas and launch is right there.

PS - Call ahead about power cord to run. They have signs all over saying that they restrict use to a certain voltage but I can't remember which.

The inspection is good for the month you have it done in. Hang on to the paperwork in case the band disappears from your boat or trailer.

Jeff C,

The facilities at Konocti Vista are top notch. The marina and docks are very nice and it's very relaxing to have everything right there. You will have a great time at the tournament.
