When you are fishing in a tournament on the delta and you set the hook on a biggun and that's when your daiwa procaster decides to jam up along with the reel seat coming undone from the rod blank on your Kmart purchased bassmaster rod.Needless to say I was so pist, I through the whole setup out into the middle of the chanel. To add insult to injury, my buddy was casting out where I threw it and was trying to snag it. I calmly told him do not bring that f@#%in pole back in the boat. Leave it. :|

Great one thukidad! I think robbers at my home would leave me a couple of reels out of sympathy. Even Dan Isaac at Reel-Ex sent some of my curados back a couple years ago because the replacement parts weren't available any longer.

You know it's time to upgrade your tackle when your thumb is the drag or if you struggle to keep a buzzbait on the surface due to your reel's 1:1 direct drive gear ratio.

You know it's time to upgrade your tackle your dad asks you to return the antenna to his '65 Impala (remember steel antenna rods?)

You know it's time to upgrade your tackle when the line on your knuckle buster is made of black Dacron.

You know it is time to upgrade your tackle when you are getting ready for a tournament and you have to borrow your wifes rods and reels because it would be too embarrassing to be seen with yours.

True story. The cat was trying to play with one of my lures so I went to hit it with one of my most expensive rod and reel set ups. He was faster than me and I missed him. With my follow through I caught the corner of a cabinet and broke 6" off the tip of the rod. I was so mad I went to hit the rod on the corner of my work bench, to finish the job. I hit the bench so hard, nothing happened to rod, that the reel seat exploded off the reel. My wife, who saw the whole thing, suggested anger management classes, I said, "No it's time for some better gear"!

your efforts to not have to fail...

Having coated my two year old 6" bass pattern Punker for the third time with epoxy recently (they get dinged off rocks and start taking water) it quit working properly right due to excess heaviness. It still worked but was a beeecth to toss all day. I was complaining to the wife about it, when she finally said 'why don't you just buy a new one!"? Bingo. True story. (I lost my back up one, a trout pattern, to a lunker on Falcon last fall).

Sooo, I saw and bid on one over on eBay a few days ago, and won. BUT yesterday I rec'd it, he'd sent me a new one two inches longer than he advertised for, and worth $10 more! ($23, listed under 'pLunker'). :P

Here is the eBay page:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... K:MEWNX:IT

Can't wait to toss this one around over on DVL, and back up at the Delta on my next trip up.

when your pulling out 3 old Abu Ambassadeurs from an old drawer for parts to repair the ones on your sun faded pistol grip uglysticks. Then when you get to fishing your scrambling around the boat for 2 stroke oil to quiet the grinding sounds spewing from the reels as your crankin that bomber. The hatch to get into the battery compartmet to snag some 2 stroke oil won't open. In a hurry you settle for the globs of smelly jelly that your partner smeared on the back seat swivel eze to quiet the squeek everytime he turned in the seat last trip out. You get the Jelly applied just before the currents take your boat up on the rocks. Good thing the troll motor battieres are charged cause you know that outboard will take 5 minutes to get cranked up. Reel still makes terrible sounds.

True story right there. (truth stretched a bit) :D
