Core 100 problem

Post by JeffJ »

My Core has been having an intermittant problem. When setting the hook or sudden jerks on the line will cause the spool begin to back spin like it became disengaged. This causes minor backlash but doenst do it all the time but when it does it's a pain especially if I have a fish on cause have to untangle the line fast. The reel hardly gets used and is probably a year or so old. What can be the issue?

The anti reverse bearing is failing or it is over lubricated. Do you spray any kind of oil on your reels?

No dont spray any lubes on reel. I think the only oil I may have put a drop in on side cast control cover was Rocket Fuel. What can i do to check this out? Not sure where the anti reverse bearing is.

You will have to remove the right side plate to gain access to the anti reverse bearing. If you feel this is not something you want to attempt then just send it in and we will take care of it.
