Cross breed Lake Oroville
Cross breed Lake Oroville
To me this looks like a genuine oroville cross breed. People tell me there is cross breeding between spots and largemouth. I just don’t know how much truth is in that. Maybe yous guys can shed some light on this.
Re: Cross breed Lake Oroville
it's a spot brother at least from what i can see on the photo's. DNA is the only way to tell with any level of certainty. But the jaw does not extend, torpedo tail and i would imagine it had a rough patch on its tongue. it is a beautiful fish, but i dont see largemouth traits.

I have caught a lot of those at Oroville and even some at Berryessa. I was told before that they are crossbreeds between Spots and smallie, not largemouths.
Fish bite twice a day - half hour before I get there and half hour after I leave.
