Curado weights, and other questions.

Post by Wild Bill »

Question #1:
Could you please tell me the weight of some of the Curado models?

I am asking about the weight differences the 201 models, in model B, D, and E.

Thanks for your help.
..............
Question # 2:
Do any of them have stronger braking ability with their drags?
...................
Question #3:
I am also now considering getting a 301 model for use with swimboats. Is that a good idea, and would any of those letter series[B, D, or E} be better for that application than another?

Here are the weights of the reels:

Curado 201B 8.5 ounces

Curado 201DHSV 9.8 ounces

Curado 201E7 7.6 ounces

The Curado D and E models have more drag pressure due to the larger gear and larger drag surface.

The Curado 301D or 301E will work perfectly for swimbaits. If you plan to use braided line then go with the E model. The E is slightly smoother with the additional bearing on the drive shaft.

Thanks so very much !

I have the B series 201 currently in use on the swimbait rod, and it's been working fine in the 5/1 gearing for that application, but I keep hearing the 301 is the way to go.

I have been using my 300 for swimbaits and I will never switch back.
