DWR Crowdsources Cutting Edge Science to Protect Spring-Run Salmon

Spring-run Chinook used to be the dominant run of salmon in California’s Central Valley, with more than a million spawners spread across nearly every river and foothill creek. Now they are rare outside of hatcheries, and may disappear from the few streams where they are still seen.

In the first steps of a new effort to protect and restore this native fish, the Department of Water Resources recently held a three-day virtual workshop to crowdsource the brainpower of top scientists across a broad spectrum of public agencies and academia.

Through scientific collaboration, DWR intends to spark creativity and harness the most cutting edge science to bring Spring-run back from the brink.

just more wasted money. stop sending water down south and add more gravel spawning areas areas to the central valley rivers
Never argue with an idiot; He'll beat you to death with stupidity.
I AM NOT SAYING THERE SHOULD BE CAPITAL PUNISHMENT FOR STUPIDITY,
BUT, WHY DON'T WE JUST TAKE THE SAFETY LABELS OFF OF EVERYTHING
AND LET THE PROBLEM SOLVE ITSELF?"
