Damian Thao Does it Again! CVKF Hensley Lake Champion - 10/14/18
23 anglers showed up for the Central Valley Kayak Fishing Event on Hensley Lake on Sunday, 10/14/18. Due to a recent cold front combined with murky water conditions, the fishing was tougher than expected. Out of 23 boats, only 3 anglers managed to capture a 4-fish limit. Water temperatures had dropped to the low 70s and the active fish were difficult to locate. Damian "Big Fish" Thao of Fresno, CA once again demonstrated his exceptional ability to locate and catch big fish in difficult conditions. Ultimately, he brought in 4 fish that were all over 20 inches. That is an incredible catch considering the conditions. His 4-fish limit went 82.75 inches. In second place was Kong Yang with 77.75 inches. Rounding out the top 3 was Brigham Vang with 61 inches. Crankbaits and jigs on off-shore structure was the key to success for this event.
