Dassonville's win delta shootout with 25 pounds as over 100 teams help restart 2020 FPT season

The 2020 Future Pro Tour Tournament 2020 season resumed last Saturday, with the annual Delta Summer Shootout held at Ladd’s Marina in Stockton, as over 100 visibly excited teams converged in big numbers on a wind-whipped California delta, to produce very good limits of largemouth bass.

“You have no idea how happy we are to be back on the trail and fishing again”, noted FPT angler Les Myers representing Highlands Ranch Resort. “Sitting at home, cooped up, only “thinking” about going fishing, was driving me crazy, so wind or no wind, we were very happy to just be out on the water”!

But the wind, while being a concern for some, certainly did not bother others, as veteran delta anglers and 2019 FPT anglers of the year, Shawn and Lloyd Dassonville topped the field with an impressive five-fish limit that rocked the scales at an even 25 pounds.

Looking to fish upcoming events, the two were pretty closed-lipped as to the areas and techniques they were using, but did indicate that the River2Sea Whopper Plopper topwater bait was a key contributor to their success.

Congratulations, Shawn and Lloyd on a well-deserved win, and a big thank you to all that came out to help get the FPT 2020 season restarted on a good – and safe note.

We would also like to acknowledge and thank all of our partnering sponsors who continue to support the western angler, and all of the many events the Angler’s Press Outdoors brand continues to produce during these uncertain and financially challenging times.

Please know that we are currently in the process of rescheduling ALL EVENTS that were previously cancelled, and have every intention on completing the 2020 season for our members.

Please stay tuned, and visit the anglerspress.com website often for schedule changes, and/or updates, as that site is the official repository for all information regarding Angler’s Press Outdoors events.
