Dems vote down health care transparancy
Democrats from the Senate Finance Committee voted down an amendment by republicans to make the final legislative language available on the committee’s web site for 72 hours before members of the committee can vote on it.
Is there something in the bill that they do not want Americans to see?
What a bunch of sneaky behind the back crooks, so much for being transparent. This is the “changeâ€

Re: Dems vote down health care transparancy
your facts on the mailers aren't even close to being correct. maybe you mis-read what actually happened?
when big corporations start trying to scare senior citizens with propaganda, then maybe someone does need to step in and put a halt to it.
Republicans argued that transparency is an Obama administration goal. They also noted that their constituents are demanding that they read bills before voting.
Democrats said it was a delay tactic that could have postponed a vote for weeks.
The Democrats noted that unlike other committees, the Finance Committee works off conceptual language that describes policies — instead of legislative language that ultimately becomes law, and which the GOP amendment would have required.
Democrats accepted an alternate amendment to make conceptual language available online before a vote.
at least get your facts straight and give the entire TRUTH.

That is a letter from DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH & HUMAN SERVICES stating:Dan McKenzie wrote:you can read the strong armed gov't letter here;
http://finance.senate.gov/press/Bpress/ ... 92109a.pdf
“CMS has learned that Humana has been contacting enrollees in one or more of its plans and alleging that current health care reform legislation affecting Medicare could hurt “millions of seniors and disabled individuals [who] could lose many of the important benefits and services.â€

Re: Dems vote down health care transparancy
Sorry bud my post is accurate, it just may not match the crap you get from the Huffington Post or The Daily Kos.
Robert Zirkelbach, spokesman for America's Health Insurance Plans, said the order went out to about 200 companies Monday night, just as the Senate Finance Committee was about to start debate on its version of health care reform.
The original Humana mailer said: "While these programs need to be made more efficient, if the proposed funding cut levels become law, millions of seniors and disabled individuals could lose many of the important benefits and services that make Medicare Advantage health plans so valuable."
Congressional Budget Office Director Douglas Elmendorf on Thursday agreed that seniors in the Medicare Advantage plans could see reduced benefits under Baucus' legislation.
I guess the CBO is a right wing conspirator!

I'm all for free speach, but one has to remember there are also obligations to it as well as limitations regarding false claims and outright lies, especailly when it comes to business.
I'm pretty aware of the letter since I posted it, it goes with the subject matter and claims of the original post.
Since there are a separation of powers it is impossible that any President and certainly no boy from Brentwood will ever pass laws regarding congress.
Do you suffer from amnesia?
and 2Sucks-I don't read either of those, apparently your information is no more accurate than the two you just scoffed at.

When I was younger I would have stood up and said “where do you see a boy with a 10 foot Richard and bucket full of balls that can piss over a bump truck.

It sucks when you make a bold statement like that and you are dead wrong
Democrats said it was a delay tactic that could have postponed a vote for weeks.
Unlike other Republicans who tried to paint Democrat opposition to Bunning as a lack of transparency – Snowe's argument was based on the fact that the CBO said in an earlier letter it needed full legislative language to come up with a formal assessment of how much the committee's bill would cost. “Words matter and so do the numbers…if full [legislative language] matters to the Congressional Budget Office, it should matter to us.â€

It's always easy to hide behind a screen name and tell someone to shut up. Usually ignorance and a lack of ability to communicate cause people to say things like "shut up". so whats your story?
