Denton/Dallas Fishing?

Post by ACRon »

The wife wants to take a trip to Denton Tx (25 miles north of Dallas). She is going to bribe me with a guided fishing trip in that area. I am looking for recommendations on a Lake and guide near Denton.

Ray Roberts is literally minutes from denton and lewisville is only about 20 minutes further away. Approx 45 minutes to the north east is Texoma great for bass and big stripers. If you are up to it 2 hours east is the legendary lake fork and that place has lots of guides for hire. Check out www.texasfishingforum.com and make the same post, there are tons of enthusiastic locals that will tell anything you need to know.

No wonder - that is the outlet capitol - extreme low prices -
I have not been there in 20 years, so it may be a bigger outlet mall now.

What time of year are you going? Ray Bob and Lewisville are right there. I don't really think either one of those lakes is all that great though. Lewisville is overloaded with pleasure boats, and Ray Bob can be tough. It's probably worth taking the 2.5 hour drive just to say you fished Fork.

While in that area you have ft worth fishing as well. With lakes like Joe Pool, Eagle Mountain and Grapevine. All these lakes hold fish, but like the previous poster said, Lewisville and Ray Roberts are closer and great fishing. Lake Fork is not to far either!!!

Good Luck.

Suggestion. Call ahead as the good guides are booked. Maybe in these times it is different.
