Diesel $$

Post by Ron T. »

Paid 4.69 a gallon for diesel today . I figure its gonna cost me 75.00 to get to Casitas and back for my inspection only to turn around and wait another 10 days . Looking forward to getting back out to my favorite lake but good lord , sure wish I could make the trip worth the cost !

Ron,

You keep that big thing parked @ your house for Casitas only and then I will rent it from you for------ hummmmm ---- let's say 25 bucks a day

I will rent it from you 10 days a month ( 250 bucks ) that should make your money back, just make sure you have that thing full of gas for me. Oh, and put a good charge on it.

I will tell you the days that I need it parked at my house.

That will be the only way I will every be able to fish Casitas again

Diesel prices definately suck. Whenever I get some free time and I'm out of diesel I just go to Tecate, only about a 40 minute drive from my house in San Diego to the gas station which is 2 blocks into Mexico, and the diesel is $2.00 a gallon. My 38 gallon tank, usually only takes 30-35 and I fill up for $60-70, and go over 500 miles before I need more (1.5-2 weeks). Diesel prices in Mexico are government regulated, and very cheap. Never had a problem with any of it, just go to the Pemex, saw 4 other US Trucks last time I was there doing the same thing. I just make sure I change my fuel filters on my 6.0 every 15k. Diesel is diesel, doesnt matter where you buy it from, just down there its LSD mostly, instead of ULSD, so you just cant run it in the new 6.4's or those requiring ULSD.

Anyone who fishes multiple lakes really needs to think about committing there rig to Casitas for the summer. What we may need to do is team work this issue. One boat for Casitas and a team mate to keep a boat availblable for other lakes. Anyone interesrted? I plan to pass inspection Monday and could make my boat could be available for a team mate to fish other lakes with.
