Tournament day begins with hooking up with Josh. There's a long slow moving line, but we eventually get to launch. Our number for the year is 20. That's good I think until staff tells me Boat #1 is boat 21.

Oh boy last boat out....that's just what I was hoping for. Knaught! Josh and I just laugh.
So off to first spot. Jig time. Brn & Prpl. Checking my HDS lives and there's nothing. Active target nothing. WTH. Fish are busting about a hundred yards away in the middle of the channel. Josh says we should go over there. (now this series has a smallest weight award for 5) Josh's first fish 1.4, I spoon one about 1. Josh speed reels a jerkbait and starts catching them. All small of course, but we have 4. About 2 hrs into fishing, Josh says somethings wrong with your active target. The temperamental "NO SOURCE" comes up. Now Josh is young enough to be my grandson, but at 6'5' (maybe 4)we make quite the pair, but one things for certain, he knows this computer stuff. Anyway Josh pulls the ghost and says my AT transducer is on backwards.

NO wonder I could never see my bait in forward, only down.

(now this has been like this for who knows how long.

I don't remember fiddling with it at all) Josh flips it around and explains that each time I change my mode I have to change the transducer 1 click unless going to scout mode. Then he goes to work on the HDS units. These units do a ton more than I ever dreamed. It would have taken me centuries to figure this stuff out. I tell Josh that I need sustenance and sit down to eat a sandwich, Josh is DS, when he decides to eat too. I'm at the counsel and Josh shows me how to set a course and steer from there. Holy Kaschmoli, I heard you could do stuff like that, but was afraid I'd mess things up.(that's pretty funny now, things have been messed up since 2021

) Oh well, live and learn. Josh and I got back to fishing. Things were tuff for us. We tried the Ryan Cook (God Bless Him) Kastmaster trick, nothing. D/S nothing, finally with a little more than two hours to go, Josh catches our limit fish. All figured I think we have 5 for 6#s. Last spots nothing off to weigh in. Glad I don't have to hike the ramp. I bag the fish while Josh gets the Roush. We get in the weigh in line and Josh wants to know why the water is emptying out of the livewells. I have no clue. We're on recirculate, so there's no way it should be emptying. But being in line and it being hot. Josh and I pull out of the line and head down the ramp to fill the livewells again, and put more water in the bag. By now the fish are looking pretty sad. New water helped out and back in line we go. After a few minutes we reach the weighmaster........5.76. WOW we should be smallest limit! but wait.........the TD weighed in 5 for..........get this.........4.14
WEll what a day. We had fun as always and thanks to Christian Bass League. Josh and I will take our 65 points, lick our wounds and hopefully bound back on th delta in Oct.

EPILOGUE..... Yesterday I go over to the boat to retrieve the damaged tire so I can get it replaced. C&C doesn't have any, Gone Fishing Marine doesn't sell em either. None of the tire places I contacted carry Kendra Lode Star tires. One gut tells me the size 215/65/R17 isn't made anymore.

So where the heck are you supposed to get trailer tires for the EZ load Rangertrail trailers. Next stop....PM KB
