What about all the other Americans struggling to make ends meet - many affected by a tariff tax increase of goods and services?
If military pay is low, why not address that vs a bonus, which means nothing divided by 12 months or $143/month. (I get it, 1776 the year of the Declaration of Independence - cute). When I served during the Vietnam War, pay was dismal for privates and NCOs - and I had a kid and lived off base!)

His 36% approval rating on his handling of the economy is at its lowest point for both his first and second terms.Dec. 17 Trump’s overall job performance had a 38% approval rating in the latest NPR/PBS/Marist poll of 1,440 adults conducted Dec. 8-11 (margin of error 3.2), while 54% disapprove.
