Elite 5 DSI
How come the fish don't read in arches, its just small little lines that look like interference. Also it works great when idling around, however when i drop my line down, i can't see the bait or anything. I am wondering whats up with it? I know the cone is right, maybe this graph just doesnt do it?

Re: Elite 5 DSI
Fish show up as small white specks, dots or oblong blotches, or if you are sitting right on top of them the will be lines. The reason is because you are looking at fish with an 800 or 455 khz Structure Scan transducer compared to the 200 or 83 khz sonar transducer.
The the different kilohertz sound from each transducer produces a different picture and what you gain from the 455/800 Structure Scan ducer, (trees, brush, rocks, etc.) is better than the broadband sonar ducer. But, being able to see suspended fish arches and your drop shot bait and weight on the broadband sonar is the trade off. With the Elite 5 DSI you will be able to see structure real good. Fish around that structure and you will catch fish. Even with broadband sonar you will catch fish you don't see on the screen so just find where they live, structure, and go fishing. With this in mind you have the best view of the bottom with the DSI.
