SACRAMENTO Ca. - Exciting enhancements are in store for amateur-level anglers in 2021 as the Future Pro Tour - presented by Ram Trucks and Gone Fishin’ Marine, embarks on its 19th year of delivering the most exciting all-amateur bass fishing tour in the west!

Some of the exciting enhancements for 2021 include:

Boat package awarded to Youth Angler Champion!

As we and supporting partners recover from the many challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, we are pleased to announce that for the 2021 season, we will guarantee for our Youth Angler League Classic champion, a new Tracker Classic XL boat, motor, and trailer package!

In addition, for 2021,there will now be TWO separate divisions for youth anglers to participate in:

· KIDS Div - 5-11 years old
· YOUTH Div - 12-18 years old

As always, NO entry fee is required for youth to participate in the Youth Angler League, and BOTH DIVISIONS – in both regions, will have the opportunity to win guaranteed CASH of $100, 75, 50 (1st, 2nd, 3rd places) at EACH event hosted!

Payout increased to 85% - Top 15/10 get paid!

Last season, the FPT returned a PURE 80% payout for its anglers, and for 2021 season we are pleased to announce that the payout has been increased to 85%, where the top 15 teams (northern), and top 10 teams (central region) will get paid, with the last check being no less than $200 dollars!

To help keep our anglers as safe as possible, and keep crowding to a minimum, effective social distancing protocols will be in place and for 2021 we will install:

Face mask and hand sanitizer stations for all participants.

Set blast-off times

Set blast-off times will be published online - prior to the events (based on online nautical data) to help eliminate the "mad rush" at-the-ramp anxiety that is prevalent the morning of events.

Limited Fields

Northern region events will be limited to 100 teams, and Central region events will be limited to 80 teams, and when you get to the registration/check-in table, you will receive your pre-drawn, random blast-off numbers.

This policy will help expedite the check-in/registration, reduce crowding/congestion, and allow us to know the EXACT SIZE of our fields prior to the event, so we can have payout awards calculated, pre-written and quickly dispersed.

(Note: Limited fields will not be in effect for “combined region” events)

Boat/motor/trailer package for - Adult Division champions

As we and supporting partners recover from the many challenges brought on by the COVID pandemic, we are pleased to announce that our traditional boat, motor, and trailer package awarded at our year-end championship event will once again be awarded at the 2021 FPT Classic event.

This means that you will participate in a year-end championship event no larger than 100 teams, and have the opportunity to qualify for a boat, motor, and trailer package!

Registration is NOW OPEN for 2021 event so do not delay and make sure you will be part of the most exciting all-amateur bass fishing circuit in the west!

I see that FPT is scheduled to have a tournament on New Melones 2/13/21. Call me crazy, but I thought they weren’t giving any permits out there this year. Maybe I’m wrong. Anyone know for sure?

anglers press melones change.jpg
Attention FPT central valley anglers...
Last week, we were recently notified by the Bureau of Reclamation, that tournaments groups will not be allowed on New Melones Lake until perhaps late spring.
Unfortunately, this will preclude us from hosting our central valley season opener on that lake on that date.
To this end, and so the we will not miss our first event of the season, we have relocated this event to:

Lake McClure on Feb 20th
We apologize for the abrupt change and any inconvience it may cause but we had not other choice. Please adjust your schedules accordingly.
See you at the opener!
