"First To Fish" Diamond Valley Night Tournament

Post by John Barron »

No one knew how the lake would fish at night.....no one has ever fished it until Saturday night. 69 teams came out to be part of history. The night started out windy and cool but the wind laid down and the nearly full moon made for a great night for the first Friends of Valley Wide Support Foundation, and the Center for Water Education Charity. We had a great BBQ and raffle and a lot of fun. Thanks to Valley Wide Parks and Recreation and the Center for Water Education. Hopefully we will be doing more of these.

It doesn’t seem to make any difference whether it’s day or night when it comes to winning on Diamond Valley. Rick and Kyle Grover know how to win. It’s their lake; they own it, and what a fitting end, a father and son team wins on Father’s Day. Congratulations Rick and Kyle, you are the team to beat on DVL.

Second place went to Robert Schneider and Dan Delhey. Robert and Dan fished a very good tournament. Good job guys.

Below are the top 10 finishers. Full results will be posted later today on the National Bass West website.

Thanks to everybody that participated and we hope that those that couldn’t make it this time will make the next one.

Thanks John, Mike, and Lynn for hosting a first class event. Also thank you for the kind words,as we made some timely adjustments after 11:00 to be able to catch the fish we did. The bite was tougher than expected, but Kyle was on his "A" game and stroked em pretty good once we figured out what was happening. You are right, nothing is better than time with your kids on fathers day. See you at next weeks KFROG event. Rick G.
