fishfinder transducer mounting on Ranger boat

Hi everyone
I have a 392v and trying to mount a transom transducer from garmin (EChomap UHD 93SV)
In the area specified for mounting....the transducer bracket is too tall for the area as it has the extension of the hull for outboard mount. Can it be placed on that extension?
