Fishing Discovery Bay Area and Docks
Re: Fishing Discovery Bay Area and Docks
Grab a bunch of senkos and go fish dude!! Be respectful of peoples property - be cool around peoples boats, jet skis and docks, etc..., and be polite to everyone you encounter (if they're mad at ya, just wave & smile and move on to the next spot). Can be real good in some areas, and slow in others. Fish all over that place and figure out where to catch 'em. I like the Kellog side myself, but there's many other places that hold good fish.

GtDon, Disco is perfectly suited for the small boat angler. There are three areas to fish down there and each is different and offers a wide array of various fishing during different seasons through out the year. Kellog Creek to the west is the shallowest of the three, it's a vast area by comparison and has many shallow, dock laden, grass filled bays that hold largemouth year round. In the fall, great striper fishing and crappie fishing can be found there as the shad tend to spawn in those bays.
Lido Bay in the center is the original and oldest bay in Disco, it has a variety of depths and contour changes that afford you to fish a lot of various tactics from shallow to deep.
The Marina Bay to the east has the deepest water, therefor indeed they hold some of the biggest bass the River has ta offer, both for blackies and in the fall when the stripers come running through.
All three bays offer great riprap, dock and grass fishing options. Most areas in all of the bays are void of current, Kellog's main runway has a great deal of current out the incoming & outgoing that plays well to summer time fishing. There's plenty of bass in all three areas ad ya just gotta git in there, fish your strengths and in time you'll find areas where fish are holding and biting!

Fished in Disco for a few minutes this past weekend. We were motoring back in and saw some stripers crashing the surface. Put on a lipless crank and caught a number of schoolies in 15 minutes or so.
