Fishing is HOT in the valley this Labor Day weekend! We don't know how the bite is but the 110 degree forecast means the fishing is hot for sure! Free Fishing Day with no license required on Saturday, September 3rd comes right in time for some 3 day weekend hot fishing as well. Stay hydrated and make sure you have those life jackets on everyone in the boat.

Last weekend wrapped up the season for Bassmaster Elite Series and when the dust settled Brandon Palaniuk was holding his second Angler of the Year trophy in his career joining a small and elite group of anglers that have won the prize multiple times. We caught up with the Idaho pro as he was making his way across the country this week and hear all about the year and what a second AOY means to him and his family. One of the good guys and hanging out with Brandon for just a bit will make you a BP fan!

With just about a month before the 40th WON Bass Open we will be visiting with a different US Open Champion each week and this year with the low water at Lake Mead the Open will make a venue change for the first time ever to Lake Mojave. This week we catch up with Arizona's Johnny Johnson a past champion and host of the long running Fishing With Johnny Johnson television show on Bally Sports Arizona. Johnny gives us his thoughts on the venue change and how he is going to approach this year's US Open.

Remember that the Wild West Bass Trail has one more Pro Am coming to the Delta September 16-18th and the Delta goes off limits for 10 days beginning on Monday so if you are fishing this event no Labor Day practice Sunday will be the last day of practice before the off limits.
