Fishing Pardee

Post by fastfiat »

Never been to Pardee so looking for any recent info. Never see much in the fish reports and know nothing about the launch ramp. Any info would be helpful. Will be targeting bass. Thanks.

Lake is very nice, as is the ramp and other facilities.
Very rigorous boat inspection ..... better be bone dry, not a drip from drain plug when you remove.
Is not inexpensive either .... 2 guys with boat will set you back $25+

Have not been there yet this season, can not offer a fishing report.

Spinnerbaits / Jerkbaits / Jigs / Drop shot should be your baits. Focus on points!

Truth - ultra clear lake fiesty smallies - ive done really well with sherbert orange colors or as natural or finesse as they get. The Ima Flit in 110 on 10lb long cast, canopy grenades jigs - i do the Berkly Max Scent Creature Hog and dip my craws with a splash of orange- green pumpkin colors work well, dont be afraid to throw the 6" General up into the backs of the coves.

Have fun its a wonderful lake

Largemouth!

Post by Larry Hemphill »

Haven't kept up with Pardee in the last 2 years, but remember, there are some big largemouth in there as well.

My biggest largemouth there about 7-8 years ago was a bit over 9 lbs

Pardee can be a hell of a lot of fun, especially in the summer with the other lakes are crowded. This is a water supply lake for EBMUD so NO BODY CONTACT.

Go online to check the DATE for opening day, time the gate opens and pull down the boat inspection form.
Print it out and fill it in ahead of time. (the inspectors like that) If you intend to return ask the gate attendant to tag your boat, they wrap a colored ribbon through your bow-eye and wench. then you can skip inspection the next trip!

Like said before, make sure you bilge plug is out and your live wells are also dry.
If you get there early you not get inspected.

Main body is super clear, the river arm is more stained, I recommend light line.
The 5 MPH zone is a mile long(at least it seems so)

Fishing....
Brw/brw Football head jigs, my fav is a "Paca-craw" trailer.
Arron's magic worms on a dart head.
When the water warms a little try a Zell Rowland super pop-r with the hollow-graphic body.
Trout color swim baits off deep points.
4 inch senko's wacky rigged watermelon w/red/blk flake, just about every where.

Bonus*** take some trout gear, if the Bass are being stubborn, catch dinner.

Warning there is a buoy about 100 yards from the launch, by it's self. It says No fishing, so don't fish there. The rangers get real pissy about it! The location of the buoy is totally ambiguous and doesn't align with any other markers.

Have Fun, The Fly'in V.
