Im interested in your guys suggestions of a rod I should get for these three applications. I am partial to Doybns but even so what series?
Also what is the best ratio of reel to use for these? thanks

If you only want to buy one rod get something that is 7'6" and heavy action, I don't know the dobyn's rod model #'s but lamiglas makes the 766, and a 765 which are both great unless you are looking for an 8 footer, I like powell so I would suggest the powell 805 if you want an eight footer.

Re: Flippin/Pitchin and Frog Rod
I used to fish Lamiglas VPR Pro and many other rods but now the only 7'6" rod I will pitch or flip with is the Cielo flippin rod. The rod is incredibly strong and sensitive. The one thing I have found with flippin rods is you lose a lot of feel and with the Cielo flipping rod that's not the case.
With that being said Daiwa just released their new 8' Steez flippin rod. I have not got my hands on one just yet but I hear they are awesome. They will not be cheap but if they are anything like my other Steez rods it will be awesome.
I would have to say fish a 7:1 reel for those applications. I am mainly to the point where the only reels I want are 7:1.
After talking to some of the main pros like Aarom Marten and Ish they say they mainly fish 7:1 reels cuz they are just faster with anything you do. I'm not sure I agree completely with that but I do love my 7:1 Zillions.
Good luck!

Goldenbass, If your going to do more pitchin than flippin or froggin, look at the Dobyns Champion 765 FLIP, but if it's going to be more along the lines of Froggin or Heavy cover flippin then go with the Champion 766 FLIP. Course you could always do like I do and get a couple of each

I purchased for my son the Dobby 734C -- and earier for myself the 764c ..
If "I" could re-purchase my own personal rod again .... I would go with either Dobby in the 734c or the 765c.
The 764c is to soft for flipping I believe- IT WORKS ....... But in hindsite I would of prolly prefered the 765c -- or even more prefereably the same rod as the 765 with a split-rear cork handle.
I bought the 764c because I am 6'4" in heigth. It will make an Awesome Striper and Salmon casting rod as well and I am really looking foreward to using it to it's potential this season.
Also- I really do love the feel of the Crucials in my hand -- As well as the rods of that size that I do have have the split handle cork -- and I believe I can actually feel better everything as I am palming the reel.

You know, we always called each other goodfellas. Like, you'd say to somebody: "You're gonna like this guy; he's all right. He's a goodfella. He's one of us." You understand? We were goodfellas, wiseguys.
