This was the right decision period. The event could not take place and would of made history as the biggest cluster %^&^&&I. Oroville has a one lane 4x4 ramp. This event would have been a nightmare and they possibly would not of returned again. Oroville has great fishing and all the accommodations needed for a great event. The lake is at an all time low. We have never had it this bad before. They should of made this announcement weeks ago. Waiting until a week prior costs fishermen a lot of wasted prefish money and scheduled vacation time. Not smart.

Havasu should be on all schedules every year just like the
Delta and Clear Lake.
Havasu is pretty tough Jan. & Feb. but off the hook the after
end of Feb.......MG
Most fair response yet Mike! Might even get me back with a schedule like that. I have never been a fan of having them all or the majority in one "localized" region. I say spread 'em out and let the "cream" rise to the top.

I couldn't agree with you more.

They might even consider throwing one in at Mojave every now and then. I remember FLW used to have BFLs there. Heck I wouldn't mind fishing Pleasant again every now and then.

Mike, you remember when FLW started out here with the Everstart series, two in the south, and two in the north. Started at Pleasant.....more travel time for me, but it was possibly the most succesful schedule they have had. I think what made it successful the first three or four years was consistency, you had a goood idea where and when you were going from year to year, now it seems we are loosing that....dates and venues change from year to year. Same old story though, let fishermen put the schedule together and you will hit a home run, let the "businessmen" line out the schedule and you get.....

when it aint broke, don't fix it!!

After fishing a WON Bass at Pleasant last year I don't ever want to go back to that place.

They should stick to Mead and Havasu at the right times of the year.

I am looking forward to fishing Rosy as many of us have never been ther.

May 14th-16th

I have a friend that said that his hotel in Oroville called him and asked if he wanted to book his room for the new date which is May 14th-16th.

She said that she received the info from the City Council.

Surely FLW would not try to muscle out the Sacramento Valley Angling Camp for the Deaf 3 day bass event ? Or would they?

From the DFG web site:

Oroville, Lake 5/15/2009 5/17/2009 3 Event SACRAMENTO VALLEY ANGLING CAMPING FOR THE DEAF Approved BLACK

Not sure if "muscle" would be the correct word Image, but I could imagine FLW could/would make it financially viable for them to move their camp to another date.

great point mike. Its to bad that lake mohave doesnt have the accomodations for big tournaments. You could launch out of katherines but the drive to laughlin and back to katherines kind of sucks, but the fishing is awesome. I had 13lbs in 3 fish down there, just wish they would fish there instead of mead.

Serendipity. Looking for something, finding something else, and realize that what you've found is more suited to your needs than what you thought you were looking for.

I’m ok with canceling and moving it to another date (May is just fine) plus it will be Oroville for the next 5 years.
