OROVILLE, Ca. The final event of the season for Future Pro Tour anglers will take place this weekend at Lake Oroville, and will see a large field blast-off from Lake Oroville’s Bidwell Canyon ramp, in search of areas that have not yet been touched by pre-fishing hopefuls.

And while the lake's water level currently sits a bit higher than it was last year at this time (appx 60% of capacity), the beautiful thing about this giant reservoir is that even at low levels, it holds tons of catchable fish.

And to win this on this lake - in the early fall, FOCUS is imperative, and one must commit to locating "quality" pockets of fish.

Finding the "BIGGER Nugget"

But diggin' around to find pockets of quality fish that could get the "win" is not the only thing at stake in this competition as the "bigger nugget" anglers will be mining for consists of one of the coveted - and limited, qualification berths into the 2019 Future Pro Tour's Classic Championship - presented by Gone Fishin' Marine of Dixon California.

For ONLY 100 teams, will be invited to the prestigious year-end championship event to be held March 6-8th, 2020, in an exciting 3-day, split-venue event, and have the opportunity to compete for the keys to a fully-rigged Nitro Z18 boat powered by a Mercury 150hp outboard, and over $10,000 in cash.

Ram Trucks Angler of the Year Race

Lake Oroville will also be "ground zero" for four teams currently engaged in a close race for the coveted Ram Trucks Angler of the Year title, and with the level of talent these 4 teams carry, the race for the title is one WAY too close to call.

Remembering Mike Coelho

This event will also honor the memory and passing of long-time FPT competitor and friend, Mike Coelho. To this end, at this event, we will honor his memory by inscribing his name on the event BIG FISH award.

Rest in peace Mike...we love you bud.

Remember...If you have never fished a FPT event... this Saturday presents a perfect opportunity for you do so, as late sign-ups will be taken at the Bidwell ramp beginning at 4am on Saturday, with limited membership fees of just $10 dollars available to those that can only make this event, or simply want to try out FPT.

We look forward to seeing you all there!
