Gen 2 HDS 7 vs. 8

Post by Skeeter59 »

I have been debating this issue for a few months now.... Do I go with an HDS 7 or HDS 8? Is the 8 really worth the extra coin for a larger screen and soft keys? I don't think I need to have four different screens up at once, I would be happy with 3. What have you all gone with and if you are rollin with the HDS 7 are you satisfied with it? I'm thinking HDS 5x on the bow to Motorguide tour w/ transducer and the HDS 7 or 8 at the wheel.

It's really a matter of how strong your budget is. The bigger the unit the more it costs but the happier people are with it. Buy what you can afford and be happy because these HDS units beat all the old stuff hands down. Whatever the size, the sonar pic is great.

i bought the hds 7 last year and when i talk about it to other fishermen i always advise them to go with the 8 over the 7. the 8 eaiser to read and if you want you can split into four but i usuallu use 2 .... on the 7 i have to strain to see things so go withthe larger one. im actualy going to get a 8 at the ISE show and put the 7 up front and only rund down scan up front. OH dothe down scan as well, it will suprise you

Cool thanks Ken and Doc! I'll count a few more pennies and just go big! Go big or go home right?
