Used to do it all the time in Florida, especially @ night. Some real big girls in some of them ponds, but don't eat any you catch from them. All that fertilizer just runs into those ponds. Thats why the water in them is always so green.
I would rather jog home from my own Vasectomy than spend Saturday at the mall.

I used to fish several around the Memphis, Tn area..Nothing like hitting a small pond that is loaded with 2 to 6 pound fish that always seem to be hungry..At the time they were a great place for honing your skills at a particular technique..I learned to use the T-rig and C-rig on golf course ponds..I don't know how any of the ponds are here in California, but if they are anywhere near the ones I fished in Tennessee, they would be worth the effort..

There can be some very good fishing in ponds found at your local golf courses. The problem comes in with the TRESPASSING issue. I say this because I manage a couple golf courses one of which has ponds on them. Do to insurance / liability issues we do not allow people on the course that are not playing golf. We have to run folks off a couple times of week because they are out fishing the ponds. I have heard and seen pics of fish up to 6lbs. in our ponds. But since it has become such an issue with trespassers I haven't fished any ofthem in about 5 years. Make sure you check with the facility your planning on fishing to make sure you don't end up getting into trouble. I have witnessed people being cited for no fishing license and if they had a license then they would get cited for trespassing.

I have two fairly large golf ponds about a block from my new house, I am very currious about whether or not they have bass. One of them I have heard rummors about. I know fishing is not allowed, so I guess I will have to wait till the weather warms up a bit to try some night action on them.

If someone was to ask for permission to fish on your golf course during non play time would you allow them? Do you know if they feed the fish if so what?

Hey Chief, is this on the base..If so, you probably don't have to worry too much about getting cited for trespassing..At least we never did at NAS Millington/Memphis..

In the stockton area some of the courses have great bass fishing and HUGE BLUEGILL , but it is illegal it fish on any of them. At the very least they will toss you off the coarse, at the worst they will have you cited for tresspass and if you are a member they can revoke your membership. Many years ago I was tossed off almost every coarse around.. Jack

Hey bondo, i fished the lemoore course one time. I was getting ready to tee off on one of the fairways when i noticed about a 5 pound bass in the shallows. I stopped what i was doing and walked to the water to look, my friends were like hey get back here. I said "anyone got a fishing wedge" har har. True story.

Mac the course is in town. NAS Lemoore and NAS Fallon are the only naval bases that don't have there own course. I never golf without my fishing wedge.

Chato - Unfortunatley we do not allow fishing at anytime. We have a large amount of vandalism during non-business hours so we try and keep everyone off. Sad thing is if you asked me that 6 or 7 years ago I would have told you yes.
