My Brother Tony is a State Representative from Minnesota. He wrote and sponsored a conceal and carry law but college campuses had to be excluded in negotiation to get the bill to pass. After the Virginia Tech Massacre he renewed his effort to "exempt" college campuses from the exemption.
Here's a recent letter to the editor about him.
He is a retired game warden and former 4 term president of the Minnesota Game Warden's Union. This is a reprint from the Mankato Free Press.

I am a Minnesota and Utah firearms carry instructor, and feel Rep. Tony Cornish, R-Vernon Center, effectively and accurately represents his district.
After reading some of the letters to the editor, I am glad persons who are mentally ill or are users of illegal drugs cannot get carry permits. I find it frightening that persons like Mr. Shonbom thinks a school or college is safe because students are not allowed to carry firearms. He is probably one of the people who in their infinite ignorance said there would be bloodshed if carrying was allowed.
As permit holders have shown, carrying has not led to blood in the streets. Anyone who gets a carry permit must take training and pass a background check. This at least assures that permit holders are less likely to act irresponsibly or illegally.
