Re: Hey Tunaman!!!!!!
Thanks much! Funny, can't seem to get out of that bracket, but at least I've gotten lucky and landed a couple now... these fish seriously need the trout plants! They're very under-weight, according to the formulas. Can't wait to get a legit double-digit so I can get a wall-mount (fiberglass replica, of course!). Sure is fun catching the larger grade though... now I have a little idea what fun you guys have been having all these years!
Tight lines forever!

Nice fish Tunaman, What are the formulas? LxLxL/?=weight
AINOKEA..........life is good...but I'm mad as Hell
Re: Hey Tunaman!!!!!!
There are three formulas that I've found, commonly used to calulate the weight of black bass:
- Total Length * Total Length * Girth / 1200 (Rough estimate for torpedo shaped fish like bass)
Total Length * Total Length * Girth / 1000 (Rough "California" estimate for full-bodied fish like gravid bass)
Total Length * Girth * Girth / 800 (Rough estimate for bass, per Outdoor Life and Hal Schramm)

Re: Hey Tunaman!!!!!!
Hey Tunaman two of those were the same. Were you thinking
Total Length X Total Length X Total Length / 1600
???
Total Length X Total Length X Total Length / 1600
???
Re: Hey Tunaman!!!!!!
THATS the one i'm looking for... thanks

Edited Original Post
Sorry for the typo... the second was supposed to be 1000, not 1200.
