Hibernets Nets
Hibernets Nets
Does anyone know anything about Hibernets? Are they any good?
Re: Hibernets Nets
It took me a little while to get used to them. But they end up being pretty convenient. Sometimes I have a little problem getting the net tucked all the way back in the shaft when storing it, but getting it out is never a problem.
I just had to fish a team tourney solo and ended up drop shotting and had to net a couple fish on my own. One time I got caught with the net still stowed away after a run (got lazy and didnt get it ready before I started fishing) and had to get it out and in the water soon as I realized I had a bigger fish than I could handle on 5 lb without a net.

Re: Hibernets Nets
Hi KOA,
I have had one about two years now, which may be when they first started to market them (not sure).
I have not had any problems. it has withstood the test of time, and it really has a long reach that is an advantage when you arwe with another angler.
By yourself, it is a little heavy, but I just got used to it no problem.
I recommend it as a good buy.

If you want the best
net available.. check out the stowmaster net. Compact, durable, great warranty. This net will last a lifetime. A bit pricey though but worth it.

My observations of other nets:

My observations of other nets:
- The rubber nets are way too heavy and don't have much of a deep bucket area to hold a lively fish securely.
- The most common DOT line nets are flimsy and don't have a wide opening for big fish over 10lbs. Since the netting is not coated or rubberized, you often have ugly tangles when netting a fish caught on a drop shot or rip bait.
- The hibernets are clumsy for one-person fish landing and boat storage. Also, the net opening collapses when sweeping towards the fish. After repeated opening/closing the netting will become weak and tear

Knotless net by BPS
Any body tried this knot less net by BPS. I've tight looped nets and found them sometime difficult to pull thru the water while netting a fish. Some comments on this net.
