When I received my BASS Master Magazine “Ask Uncle Homer” column was the first part of the magazine I when to. Going to be missed!

Homer Circle was--and remains--the gold standard in outdoor writing. Having lived to 97, I guess it's safe to say we all grew up reading his stuff...

Being older than most, I remember when Homer Circle replaced Jason Lucas as fishing editor of Sprts Afield. Homer became an Icon in the industry with his easy going approach to bass fishing and became everyone uncle Homer.
R.I.P. Homer; thank you for the memories...are a keeper!

I most remember Homer for showing us how to remove a hook that is stuck past the barb. I call it the Homer Circle method of hook removal, and it works. I know because I had to use it a couple of times.

I had the pleasure of meeting Homer Circle in the late '80's and was able to hang around with him for a few days at 2 or 3 of those Vegas ICAST shows (formerly AFTMA). They don't make folks like Homer any more. What a Gentleman - and a very wise man!!
