Horny toad colors

Post by massbaster »

What colors of Horny toads are you guys throwing on the delta ? On "regular" frogs I throw white in the mourning or low light conditions and black when its bright and sunny, I know it sounds funny but thats what works for me. Is it the same for the Horny toads?, or do the more natural colors work better.
Thanks for any Info.

I've also had success with the watermelon red as well as straight black and straight white. On the white horny toads, I use a thin sharpie to make the squiggle marks on the belly...

there are now competing products offered by Sizmic and Reaction (not reaction innovations) that have swim bait-like ends on the feet. These two immitations create even more commotion than the Horny Toad but don't sink quite as easily when you pause your retrieve.
