We do not sell rod blanks unfortunately. Yes the Crucial is made in China.

And my Cardiff is made in Mylasia. Isn't Shimano Japanese?
I've never seen Shimano blanks around. You would need a connection out the back door.

We have a factory in Malaysia as well as in Japan. There is no "back door" as you stated because the rods are all built overseas.

Very few companies have all of their products made in the country of their origin. The Heartbeat of America (Chevy) is made in Canada.

Ardent reels are (so far) made in the U.S. US Reels, on the other hand, are made in China. ??? Meanwhile, Shimano, Daiwa, ABU Garcia, and Quantum, are all made in factories outside of the country of their company's headquarters. Just the way it is.

A lot of Shimano rods are made with G-Loomis blanks. They are then assembled in China. So it goes like this: Blank made in U.S., shipped to Japan for inspection, then shipped to China for assembly, then shipped to Japan for inspection and distribution, then shipped to U.S. for Point of Purchase. And they do that to save money. ???

I should've paid more attention in Mr. Turner's economics class.

Actually we no longer use Loomis to build rods or blanks. All of our rods are made overseas now. Japan does perform our QC checks on the products to make sure they are correct before we receive them.

We still make several products in Japan at our factories. Some are made in Malaysia at our other factory. It all depends on where Shimano Inc. decides to have the reels built. We have no say in the matter. All the tooling and equipment at the Malaysia factory does come from Japan, so there is no question of the quality of the machines used.
