How to change a Bow Eye.....the Fast Eddie way..no emphasis on fast

Step 1
Load all the tools in the Roush (or other vehicle) 7 1/2 minutes
Step 2
Drive 1 hr to vessel storage area
Step 3
Uncover boat about 4 minutes
Step 4
Undo locks and remove from gimbal 7 1/2 minutes ( 2 units)
Step 5
Undo cables about 2 minutes and set units aside (carefully) :D
Step 6
Search through tool box to find correct allen wrenches to remove gimbal plate 5 minutes :roll:
Step 7
Remove gimbal plate(4 allen screws) set aside exposing bow cover (1 minute) (leave gimbals attached to gimbal plate)
Note: use caution as cords are still passing through plate hole
Step 8
Search through tool box to find correct screw driver size ( 5 1/2 minutes) Lot of tools :lol:
Step 9
Unscrew and remove Bow Cover 3 minutes (6 phillips heads, with little covers over them. Use caution as covers are snap easily as I found out. :shock: :lol: )
Step 10
Look inside carefully shifting wires and cables to see the bow eye nuts and plate (a flashlight helps :lol: )
There it is right against the rod tubes :shock: 1minute
Step 11
Try 3/8 socket....Try 7/16, try 1/2,...try 9/16...5/8ths works. :) ( use deep sockets due to the length of the eye bolt thread post)
Step 12
Unscrew self locking nuts from both bolts (5 minutes)
Step 13
undo the strap from what's left of the bow eye and unscrew broken pieces 1min 30. (Make sure to keep your finger or hand on the inside mounting plate so it doesn't fall into the bilge. :shock: ) Remove mounting plate from interior of bow
Step 14
Drive to Bass Pro shops Manteca in traffic 45 minutes
Step 15
Purchase $300.00 of fishing stuff while your there. including the $2.56 new eye bolt. Chat with Dave Glibe 2 hrs
Step 16
Drive to Wendys for lunch. 30 minutes
Step 17
Lunch with wifey (Yes wifey came along to help with removal and installation, not too happy though about all the extra fishing stuff. I don't understand the female psyche because in her mind I have a complete tackle store in the garage, what the heck do I need more for. :shock: :lol: ) 45 minutes
Step 18
drive to vessel 15 minutes
Step 19
Attach new Bow eye 10 minutes
Step 20
Reinstall bow Cover ( 2 minutes
Step 21
reinstall gimbal plate 3 minutes
Step 22
Reconnect unit wiring 3 minutes
Step 23
Install units on gimbal mount 5 minutes each
Step 24
Put tools away 5 minutes
Step 25
Turn power on and check units 2 minutes
Step 26
Attempt to install Active Target upgrade. 3 sec
Step 27
Fail on all 3 units :shock: 5 minutes (figures)
Step 28
Frustrated, cover boat 5 minutes
Step 29
Go home. 1hr
Step 30
Unload all the tools 7 minutes

If I can do it, anybody can. Even took it for a small test drive and it held. However I'm going to my local BP shop today to pick up a spare...............because it'd be just my luck something happens. :lol: :lol: :lol:
