I hope that De La Hoya will shut up Mayweather.......... But I don't expect it to happen if it does go the distance.

That Mayweather/La Hoys 24/7 show. What a joke.

oscar can't beat mayweather without his trainer! And he didn't give him the 2 million he wanted to train oscar againts his blood! Oscar will get humiliated! Mayweather has been training very hard and Oscar has been show boating his Golden Boy Promotions and other shows! I like Oscar but this time I got to say Mayweather is going to whoop him!

I wish Vargas would of knocked out Oscar then he would of retired already!

Mayweather has the edge in the speed and skills. If it goes to the cards there is no way oscar wins. Mayweather is the type of fighter that scores well with the judges with his speed and flashy skills

Some people are predicting Lahoya in 6.

Makes sence for him to go out fast and hard at his age. -- But I have seen that movie once before........

-- The Image was to salty for my wallet that night.

I thought it was an average fight. Mayweather does what he usually does, dance around the ring and land a few quick shots here and there. De la hoya couldnt catch him...no knock downs. I dont think it lived up to the hype.

I think you are wrong. Both guys did what they said. Oscar beat him on the ropes and Mayweather won in the middle of the ring. You should have seen the 2 faces. They were both hit hard. Mayweather had his jab working fantastic. Those 6 or 7 body punches in a row by Oscar.... awesome. I hope there will be a re match.

Mayweather said it would be a massacre? I dont think I would pay 55 bucks to watch a rematch. Mayweather is way faster than De La Hoya that was obvious. I didnt think there was too many hard hits, then again I was drinking

I thought the fight pretty much stunk. Ol' Oscar followed him around the ring and ate shots all night long so how they figured his beginning and ending rounds with flurries of shots that didn't land let alone do any damage got him a split decision I'll never know.

Interestingly enough it was odd to hear Lampley and crew bring up MMA and its impact on boxing. With all the hoopla they had before this fight, if it was the fight of the decade then boxing is in huge trouble. I found the fight to be predictable, for the most part slow and extremely boring and didn't come close to living up to the build up. I was expecting something closer to the good ol' days of Pryor Vs. Arguello. Now those were fighters giving it all up and this fight wasn't anything near that.

I have to agree. Boxing is in trouble or going through a weak cycle. As much as a like these two fighters, there's no way that this was the fight of the decade or even the year. The problem is if you look up and down the WBC and other orgs. there are no really intriguing match ups. There is no hagler/hearns, leonard/hagler, frazier/ali, etc. There are some great fighters, but the ones on top will whack most contenders in the top ten. Also, the heavyweight division is as weak as I can recall. IMHO boxing started losing it during the downfall of Mike Tyson. Tyson's early fights changed the boxing fan's expectations. They wanted to see the knockout. There has not been as prolific a knockout artist since, and the heavyweight division has lacked a dangerous champion as well..
