Bassaholic,

I took the family out this past Sunday and the kids just had a ball catching trout that averaged 3 lbs each, largest going over 6 lbs. All were caught from the beach area next to the marina on Chart powerbait. Everyone around us was watching us catch fish after fish, and wondered why they weren't catching any. My son and I went back out on Monday and didn't even manage a bite from that same exact area, so we rented a motorboat and just cruised the lake, my 5 year old had a great time driving the boat. We did manage 2 fish close to 3 lbs each on a main lake point along with a couple of perch on inflated crawlers. One thing we did notice was that the fish seem to be no more than 20-30 feet off the bank.
As for the bass fishing, we didn't do any, but the guys we spoke to said they dropshotted some nice smallies on 4 inch folkstead specials, and they managed 2 on a carolina rig just past the narrows, largest they said was over 4 lbs. There is a school of stripers working in the narrows, but we didn't try for them.
Good luck to you,

Sean
