Lake Natoma on Hazel
Lake Natoma on Hazel
I was wondering if anyone has fished on lake natoma. I know that they don't allow any motors out there, but my tube would work I think. I just don't know if your allowed to. The place I'm talking about is just off Hazel (In Sacramento/Orangevale) located on the left and I can see the sail boats and small crafts out there. It right before highway 50. Anyone know what I'm talking about? So my question to you guys is, has anyone fished it? Is there big fish out there? What did you guys use? Thanks....

Lake natoma is fun and you can have a motor just 5mph .I went in june and it was great smallmouth fishing .I took my 17ft bass boat and had a great time .

forget about it. yes you can tube it, but that would be my last choice to bass fish. There is a good amount of trout there, but thats hard to get too. I have heard there is a smallie bite there, but I would go somewhere else for that too. This is just my opinion.

Actually, the lower half of the lake is no motors at all, the upper half is motors allowed with 5mph speed limit. Fishing is tough, there is some good fish, but hard to come by.
From a tube, I would enter at Hazel, walk east up the bike trail to where it follows a bridge that crosses a small bay along hwy 50. I've seen huge fish around the laydowns and bridge pilings.
Also, access at willow creek, along folsom blvd north of hwy 50 is good. There's some tules and laydowns in there with decent largemouth to be had.

There's actually a decent ramp at Negro Bar. As the above states, 5 mph speed limit and no motorized boats in the lower lake. I seem to remember a couple tournaments put on by Scott Shambre there--wasn't called something like the Winter Bass League?donny916 wrote:I was wondering if anyone has fished on lake natoma.
