lake of the pines?

Post by brambo0311 »

Hey does anyone know how I can get on this lake and give it a try. Is there a membership? Rules like no 2 strokes? I can pop mine off and go electric. I know its one of the top lakes around, and I live close. I just want to go fishing after work somewere other than folsom.

Good Luck.....It is a private gated community. You must know someone who lives within the community and have them call you in as a quest. You are also correct...they put a ban on two-strokes this Jan, but even if you wanted to put your boat on it must first be registered with the lake community and in order to do that you must show proof of ownership to a community member. That is why I said good luck.

However, if you do find a way to get in it is an awesome fishery. Jigs, Chatterbaits, Senkos, and Swimbaits all work well. I've caught my personal best (10.67) there plus many, many over 5. Again, good luck.

P.s. I'm lucky enough to get out there once in a while because the in-laws live there. One of the many benefits of marriage.

Man that sucks, I am actually looking to move up in that area right now. I guess if I want to fish that lake im gunna have to buy a house in there. And as soon as I did im sure there would be a die off of all the fish or something. Yeah as far as the in-laws I married into a great place to fish in Havassu on the colorado and in Tahoe for trout.

Lake of the Pines, yes private community as everyone says.

There is also Lake Combie, just a little ways from there, but as far as I know it is not open to the public, i think it is PCWA (placer County Water Agency) property.
I knew a guy who worked for Davey Tree and he had keys to Combie, he said it was nice, but I don't know how nice, mind you that was fished via float tube.

The closest thing to Auburn is Rollins, its O.K. from what I hear. thats about as close as it gets, I sure you know of the other surrounding lakes.

All the best,
