Livewell on my bass tracker

Post by WildDog3 »

I purchased a 1995 bass tracker and there is no plug in the live well. When I turn the aeorator water comes in but drains back out. Do I need to get a plug, and where could I get one? Any input would help. Thanks

I have a 2007 Tracker and mine did come with plugs. If no one else responds with a 1995 Tracker. I would try it but when you first use it test it out and watch it fill all the way up and make sure it has an over flow, so not spill over or fill up your bilge.

My 2002 Tracker did not require plugs because it had a switch lever to open and close the drain side. Does yours have something like that? If not a plug will work in a pinch. I had to use one when the cable on the lever broke.

Good Luck!

I lost the plug for mine. Just get a rubber drain plug like the one for the bilge. It works better than the stock one anyway. The original popped out too easy.More than once a fish knocked it out and lost most of the water. You can get a plug anywhere that has boat supplies. I picked one up at Walmart. There are different sizes. Mine is 3/4 ".

Any marine store or Wal-Mart. I used an extra transom drain plug the day that it happened to me and it worked great! See if your plug will fit and hold water when tight. If it does just take it into the store and get one just like it in size. To easy!

I've got a 1999 tracker and I never use a plug. There is a knob labeled "auto" and "empty" near my throttle handle. I simply turn it to auto and it fills up or turn it to empty and it drains out the back. If yours is different or no longer works, check out Lowe's or Homedepot and buy a rubber plug in the hardware dept. I carry one as an extra boat plug in case I lose the one I've got. Good Luck!

It doesn't take a plug. They put a piece of PVC pipe in that hole about 2inches shorter that the top of your livewell so when the pump runs it will drain out the from the top (warmer water)
