My 5 yr old daughter is having fun fishing for trout in the local park pond, but that fishing is coming to an end shortly. DFG will not be planting the pond after Feb. 29th. So, I am looking for advice where I might be able to put her on some bluegill. I am looking for a place with shore access as we do not have a boat. Looking for a quantity bite, not quality.
Thanx,
Looking for a bluegill spot

If anything happens in Clear Lake I'll let you know, however they've pulled a disappearing act up here along with the crappie recently.

Greg is correct, 2006 I was catching giant bluegill on my drop shot rod with 6 inch worms!!, I would take an hr to fish for them with my 5 year old and catch 50 with out even trying but 2007 and 2008 so far they are not to be seen, when they do arrive again I would go to Kanakti in Clear Lake and fish off there docks, there are people there all the time doing it.
I am taking my 3 1/2 year old Son to Clear Lake for 5 days next month, come on pre-spawn!!!!

Go to folsom lake granite bay entrance. Stay on the road and park at beaks bight. Out of the parking lot take the trail stay left, its called the los lagos trail, it will dead end into a pond full of blue gill. about a 1/2 mile walk. Through out a piece of bread and they will feed like pirahna and you can just throw a bare gami red salmon egg hook and the will eat it.

If your in Stockton aria go down 8 mile road all the way to the end.Turn left and follow untill you see the bend. Now this is the odd part. you will at least a 1/2oz sinker and 8lb line rig it up like a cat fish rig with the sinker on the bottom the the hook about 14in. 14in ubove that one more hook. use the giant redworms
and cast out about 35' i take my 3 kids out there all the time and they catch 3 or 4 each in about a hour or two...
