I have been interested in getting my hands on molds and the melting pots to start making my own jigs.
Any one out there have the goodies.
I am pretty cheep but reasonable,
I want to start out small and mostly experiment around with my own ideas !
I bought a bunch of heads and skirts a while back and they worked pretty good so now I am ready to move up to the next step and poor and Tye my own.

Re: looking for jig making equipment to buy!
Guy,
By no means am I trying to deter you from making jigs, but...
I was also quite interested in in putting together a small personal production for jigs and other leadhead baits. The thing is that the initial investment is relatively large. I'm not really one to buy complete jigs from anywhere. What I do is find (often on ebay) the type of heads, which may or not be painted, and go from there. For example, I can buy 10 unpainted arky jighead for about 6 bucks, paint them with either powdercoat or regular acryllic paint and then put an epoxy coat (usually with some glitter). Up to there is an investment of about 65 cents per jig.
Then I will figure out what I want to do for a skirt, color, rubber or silicone, thread tied or rubberband, etc. After those average expenses, I'm producing a jig for about $1.25 - $1.75 per jig, which is anywhere from 2-3 time cheaper than what I can buy in the store, along with the fact that it is built to my exacting specifications, and the reward that it is to catch a fish on a lure I made. I have made at least 100 jigs of all types, football, standup, grass and even a Wadda type jig (with a few considerable differences, so Cooch , please dont sue me
) and I still have leftover material to use whenever I round up some new jig heads.
I would suggest that you give my method a try, simply because you can produce a large number of jigs, with a small cost, and without the initial investment of molds, melting pots, equipment, etc.
Just my 2 cents, and enjoy catchin them bass on you own custom made baits, there's nothing better than that!

Don't do it Guy!
If you make a decent jig, your buddies will want you to tie for them........ then their buddies will want you to tie some.......... then it starts becoming another job!
I'd help you out, but the tweekers stole all of my gear.
