Loomis WARRANTY & XPEDITOR CLAIMS

Post by Rick Perez »

Hey guys,
I have a question regarding the WARRANTY & XPEDITOR CLAIMS! I have not had to file a claim for a rod in a long time and my recent trip out my MBR IMX 844 heavy rod snapped landing a 6 lbr!
I went onto the Loomis web site and the warranty form has changed from the last time I filed years ago. It's now asking for proof of purchase / receipt (understandable) with date of purchase. It had to be registered in order for me to move forward with the claim. I can't find the receipt!
The last time when I filed a claim, I don't remember registering my rod and that I would call and then send it in, and they would determine if they would replace it or offer me something comparable at a reasonable cost.
Any feedback on this I would very much appreciate!
thanks
Rick

A buddy of mine a couple years ago stepped on and broke a $450 rod. He offered to pay for it, but asked me if he should try to warranty it. I told him that I highly doubt they would do that considering he stepped on it by the reel seat. He contacted Gloomis and told him to send the rod and $150 and they would replace it. A couple months later he called me to come pick up my new rod! Good luck with yours!

I just sent one back in a couple months ago and you do not need the receipt, just an approximate purchase date and store. Give them a call and they can get you set up over the phone. You basically have two options, either pay an upfront price for a no questions asked return or send it to them first and they will evaluate it and get back to you with as if it will be covered or not. I think I paid 150 or so upfront for an IMX Rod as the break was definitely my fault from boat flipping a 5lbr

All my rods except two are Loomis and Big Daddy's got it right on the details. It took seven months for me. Be ready for your new rod...Chances are you won't like it. I broke an old Dropshot rod and finally when they got one in stock and sent it to me....I took it to a local shop and sold it on consignment as it had the same numbers on the rod but that's where it ended . I now buy Edge rods. I just bought a new 745 mbr 7' 2" that weighs 3 ozs. It should be here soon I have another silver widow Mbr and a black widow drop shot rod. His new rods are the old G.Loomis rods on steroids....The vapor deposed nickel carbon fiber handle     on my silver widow makes every bite feel like they crushed the bait. I consider my old Loomis rods and actions priceless now and whenever I brake them I will be replacing and selling it's replacement whatever it is for.... What ever Gary has a mind to make from now on. Good luck on your trip through the new Shimano phone system should it get ugly...And then it gets worse :D I sincerely hope not and I pray it's quick and painless for you on your replacement.

I had reel seat go bad on crank baits rod about two years ago I payed $50 dollars. It was a Loomis rod made by Loomis not Shimano. The replacement was not the same rod for sure!
